Three Frameworks To Help You Make Progress In Your Business

Most people never start the business or make any progress. Here are three frameworks I used to get started and make progress.

You know what business you want to build and the life you want to have. But, you haven’t started yet, aren’t making any progress, or get distracted by other opportunities.

So today I want to give you three actionable frameworks you can use use to get started, make progress in your business, and stay focused.

Lets dive in.

  2. Don’t create a simple plan

  3. Get distracted by other “opportunities”

But don’t worry because I’m going to give you three actionable frameworks to solve these problems.

Framework 1: Impact to Time Ratio

Starting is a requirement for all businesses. We all must start somewhere. There are plenty of steps that go into starting a business like banking, business formation, choosing the idea, researching the market, product development, marketing strategies, and hiring key employees. Most entrepreneurs spend the majority of their time on low-impact activities that do little to move the business toward generating revenue.

For example, spending hours designing a logo might feel productive, but if you haven’t yet defined the problem your company solves, developed a product, or confirmed that customers are willing to pay for your solution, then that work is just fluff.

The Impact to Time Ratio helps you identify which tasks really matter:

  1. List all tasks you need to complete for your business.

  2. Estimate the time required for each task.

  3. Grade each task on a scale of 0–10 for its importance in generating revenue.

  4. Calculate the ratio by dividing the impact grade by the time required

Finding out which primary actions are high impact (i.e directly drive revenue) is critical. Once known, take massive action.

Framework 2: Simple Plan Creation

A simple plan followed yields results. Complex plans are often difficult to follow and its hard to make progress on all fronts. By trying to do everything, you end up doing nothing. Creating a simple plan allows you to take massive action on the few high impact tasks that move the business forward. A simple plan should take no longer than 30 minutes. Here is how to create a simple plan.

Using the impact to time ratio from above, you have identified the highest impact tasks in your business. It may be talking to customers, developing your product, producing content, etc. Find out what the top two or three priorities are, and focus all of your attention daily on those primary tasks. Commit to doing 100 of those primary actions a day for 100 days. Schedule time specifically to work on the high impact tasks before anything else. Worry about everything else later.

Framework 3: The Woman in the Red Dress (From the Matrix, and Made famous in this context by Alex Hormozi)

You did it. You started and took massive action on high impact tasks and are now seeing real results. You look around and see others achieving way more success than you doing something that seems “easy”. You think about switching to whatever they are doing.

Don’t.

Alex Hormozi describes this as the "woman in the red dress"—a distraction pulling you away from your current, rewarding journey. Chasing new, seemingly easier opportunities often means starting from zero, relearning the rules, and facing challenges that aren’t immediately obvious.
